Local Food from Our Restaurant

The restaurant at Basecamp Oulanka reflects the spirit of the surroundings. Our kitchen serves Finnish local food, prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We make our meals as much as possible from scratch in our own kitchen.

At the end of the dining hall, there is a large fireplace, and numerous candles create a calm and atmospheric setting. Large windows offer direct views of the surrounding nature. The restaurant has seating for 60 guests. There is also a fully licensed bar connected to the dining area. During summer, you can enjoy food and drinks on our scenic terrace.

We accommodate special diets and food allergies when informed in advance at the time of booking. Requests made on-site cannot be guaranteed.

Breakfast 8:00–10:00

Breakfast is always included in the accommodation price and is served in our restaurant. During quieter periods, or if you are leaving before breakfast service begins, we can provide a breakfast basket to your room the evening before.

Soup Lunch 12:00–16:00

For lunch, we serve a daily changing, hearty soup with sides. If you are heading out for a hike, you can also take the soup with you in your own thermos and enjoy it on the trail.

Dinner 18:00–20:00

After a day of activities, sit down and enjoy dinner in our restaurant. During the winter season, we serve a daily buffet including a starter buffet, a main course with sides, and a dessert. We recommend booking dinner in advance together with your accommodation to ensure availability.

Café Basecamp 10:00–20:00

Our café, located next to the reception, offers light snacks, freshly baked sweet and savory treats, as well as hot and cold beverages.

Our fully licensed bar serves beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, mixed drinks, and shots.

Restaurant services follow the rhythm of the nature centre

Our services adapt to the season and demand, and during quieter periods there may be changes to opening hours.
